Notice of Fund Available (NOFA) for The Carnation Resident and Destination Funds

The City of Carnation notices monies available through two funds:
1. Carnation Residents Fund
2. Carnation Destination Fund
On May 21, 2024, the Carnation City Council voted to open up a second round of the Carnation Fund for $6,200.00. This is the total amount available for all proposals. The City uses this NOFA as its only mechanism to financially support community-based activities in the City.
Applicant must be a non-profit organization. If you have already applied, you are automatically in the running for the second round.
Resident Services Fund
Purpose of funding: Provide benefits to special populations who reside in the City of Carnation.
Scoring Criteria:
- Carnation residents are in the service area
- Number served
- Assists a special population
- Has a clear Focus: Health, Education, Need, Employment, Early Development etc.
Destination Fund:
Purpose of Funding Provide events that attract visitors to the City. Examples include meals, childcare, recreational activities, transportation, etc.
Scoring Criteria:
- The event must be held in the City of Carnation.
- The event should bring “heads to booths.”
- The event should not benefit only one business.
- The event must have free entry.
All applications will be evaluated by the Council Finance Committee and final selection of grantees will be made by the City Council.

- Exemption Determination Letter
- A document answering the prompts below
- Requestor’s Name and Fiscal Agent Name if one is used
- Address
- Phone Number
- Email Address
- Please indicate if this request is for either the RESIDENTS Fund or the EVENTS Fund?
- Total program budget- this is the full cost of the activity.
- Total request from the City of Carnation? This amount should not exceed 30% of the total budget.
- Do you agree to present the results of the program to the City Council and to submit a written report once per year?
- Please describe the activity or program the funds will support?
- Please describe how your concept helps the City of Carnation residents, or merchants.
- Please describe how many people or businesses you will serve with the Carnation Fund grant.
- Since the City will only contribute up to 30% of the program or activity budget, who else is contributing to this effort or activity?
- Please include the name and cell number of your Board of Directors.
- Lastly, please explain who will be accountable for delivering services or implementing programs with the requested funds?
